A.M.A. Counseling Services, LLC is located in the Lehigh Valley in which we serve clients to reach their inner self via the use of therapeutic interventions. In addition to these therapeutic interventions, clients may select counseling services in English or Spanish.

Our Team

Dr. Gloria Velazquez

​

Gloria has been working in the Human Services Field for many years upon receiving her two Bachelors in Arts Degrees in the area of Psychology and Spanish. Gloria was able to study and submerge herself in the Spanish Culture and strengthen her Spanish linguistics by studying abroad in Spain and in Puerto Rico. Gloria has received a Master’s in Social Work and a PhD in Human Services. 

 

Gloria is able to offer counseling services in English and/or Spanish based on a person's preference. Gloria has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples/families, and various community members. Gloria uses various treatment modalities CBT, person in environment, strengths perspective, family systems and more, based on the needs of the individual. Gloria is certified as an advanced grief counseling specialist as grief can impact a person in various ways. Gloria provides clinical supervision for professionals in preparation for licensure for LCSW and LPC.

Dinnette Medina

Dinnette is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Kutztown University. Some other areas of focus include supporting women’s empowerment workshops on several different platforms, conducting conversations and training related to various topics such as self-care, human sexuality, trauma awareness, and life balance. Dinnette is bilingual in Spanish and English and love serving the Latino community. Dinnette's approaches in treatment are person centered, focusing on empowerment and Reality Theory. Dinnette enjoys working with individuals and families from all backgrounds and groups. As a trained Marriage and Family Therapist, Dinnette understand that working with the entire family unit whenever possible is key to ensuring the success of the individual. Also, Dinnette is comfortable working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Christoffer Dunsmuir
Quira Santos

Quira holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Neuroscience from Temple University. She has been passionate about the field of psychology and mental health since 2016.

Some of Quira's areas of focus include anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and more. Her therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and humanistic. She utilizes a variety of modalities, including psychodynamic, ACT, CBT, mindfulness, holistic, gestalt, multicultural, and systems focus, to tailor her approach to each client's unique needs.

Clients can expect to be warmly welcomed as they are. Quira strives to understand what is troubling them and works collaboratively to create a plan of action. Her aim is to help clients understand and express themselves confidently, starting with the therapeutic relationship they develop together. She actively listens without judgment, providing validation and empathy.

Quira finds it extremely rewarding to witness people experience true joy and self-love. Having personally benefited from therapy, she understands its powerful impact and is committed to helping others find their path to healing. Quira shows up as her authentic self in the therapy space and encourages others to do the same.

Angel Velazquez

Angel has experience with working with and advocating for the disability community while completing her Bachelor's degree and her Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on students with disabilities in higher education at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania. With her experience, Angel can help patients and their families navigate laws and barriers for people with disabilities to overcome hardships while getting the supports needed to become successful. 

Angel holds a dual role by being the Student/Intern Liaison who works with students volunteering their time during their intern/practicum at AMA Counseling Services, LLC as well as a therapist. Her role is to support and guide students/interns navigating the inner workings of private practice in mental health counseling while balancing school and personal endeavors. As a therapist, Angel has experience using various therapeutic modalities with working with individuals, children, adolescents, and their families to support and encourage them to be the best version of themselves.

Our Mission

The mission of A.M.A. Counseling Services is to provide mental health services, therapeutic interventions, and facilitate referrals throughout the community in order to address patients’ on-going mental health and social needs.
